Maxi Employee Fundraising for MND Scotland
On Saturday 28th May one of our Quantity Surveyors, Ashlea Ford, is attempting to conquer her first 10k to raise funds for MND Scotland, having witnessed first-hand the support this Charity has to offer.
At 19, Ashlea decided to trace her biological Father (Martin) with hopes of building a relationship with him. Unfortunately, during her time of searching, Martin had been diagnosed with the terminal illness, Motor Neurone Disease (MND). At just 46, and 7 months after diagnosis this disease had left Martin paralysed from his neck down.
Ashlea met her Father just 2 weeks before he lost his battle and passed away from the debilitating illness.
Almost 7 years on from the anniversary of Martin’s diagnosis, Ashlea has decided to honour his memory by taking on this challenge. Taking place in Holyrood Park, the 10k, which is partnered with Edinburgh’s Marathon Festival, will see Ashlea start her run on Queens Drive, by the steep sides of Arthur’s Seat, taking in the panoramic views of the City before the finishing line at Holyrood Gate.
Ashlea has set a fundraising target of £400 and Maxi Construction would like to set her on her way with a £100 donation.
If you would like to support Ashlea, please do so by following the link to her Just Giving page
Good luck Ashlea!!
