Maxi Construction supports World Suicide Prevention Day
With one death attributed to suicide every week within the construction industry, Maxi Construction has invested in supporting its employees Mental Health. In 2019, Managing Director, John Aitchison and Construction Director Barry Simpson, became certified Mental Health First Aiders.
With the importance of individuals being able to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety or depression all employees were given the opportunity to undertake Mental Health Awareness training in 2020, this was a successful initiative with a 92% of staff completing the training.
John Aitchison, Managing Director and Mental Health First Aider said: “We are delighted that our employees have recognised the importance of raising their awareness and understanding of Mental Health.
This training was not specifically work related so could provide a far greater benefit to family, friends and community”
