The only way is up for two Maxi employees

Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Darren Cassidy and Construction Administrator, Louis Jones are both part-time students at Glasgow Caledonian University and have been getting to grips with the transition from face-to-face teaching to online learning in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Darren is currently in his 4th year studying BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and said, “Adapting to remote learning has been an experience however, I am staying positive with a great network of support through Maxi and GCU.”

Louis, our former Career Ready mentee, completed his NC Built Environment at West Lothian College earlier this year and is now studying BSc (Hons) in Construction Management, he said, “I’m really enjoying studying my BSc (Hons) Degree in Construction Management at GCU; with learning at home and the challenges with online teaching I’m really enjoying University and gaining new knowledge and adapting to new experiences. I am looking forward to the future.”

All of us at Maxi Construction would like to wish Darren and Louis well with their studies.

Fundraising

We would also like congratulate Darren and Louis following their fantastic fundraising efforts. They managed to raise over £1600 for the Samaritans charity by completing a sponsored walk up Ben Nevis on Saturday 31st October. The weather was not on their side with a yellow weather warning, but they managed to climb a staggering 1000m before they made the sensible decision to call it a day.

Excellent achievement, well done!
