Maxi’s Fifth Annual Foodbank Donation
Maxi Construction delivered 680kg of food, toiletries, and children’s toys to Trussell Trust distribution centres in Edinburgh, West Lothian, and East Lothian last week. Our collection included impressive donations from staff and supply chain members at our Head Office in Livingston and our construction sites across East and Central Scotland.
The Trussell Trust is an anti-poverty charity that supports a network of more than 1,200 food bank centres across the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face.
A standard emergency food parcel weighs 14kg and provides 3 meals for 3 days. Figures show that from April 2019 to March 2020, 237,225 emergency food parcels were provided to people in crisis in Scotland. During the COVID-19 pandemic, between April and September 2020, 110,965 emergency food parcels were issued.
