Refurbishment of South Morningside Primary School

Summary: Refurbishment works to an operational, traditional primary school.

Description of Works:

Refurbishment works to an operational,  traditional primary school including upgrades to windows and mechanical and electrical services.

Works included:

• Upgrade existing sash and case windows in the main building.
• Replace windows with wooden frame double glazed units in the toilet block at the rear of the school.
• Replace a fire escape door and plat at the girls toilets.
• Remove the existing plant (including support brackets and cables) and upgrade/replace with new electrically powered fan assisted wall mounted heaters of appropriate type and size including support bracket stand cabling.
• Dismantle and remove some existing radiators (including distribution pipework & support brackets) and replace with new water filled radiant panels of appropriate type and size including support brackets, lock shield and thermostatic control valves.
• Replace electric distribution boards in the basement and level 1.
• Provide additional socket outlets to staffroom to facilitate safe appliance operation.
• Decorate walls, ceilings, skirtings & replace floor coverings where works have damaged existing finish.
• Remove tree and roots reinstating and upgrading playground, wall and railing as appropriate.
