Summary: Refurbishment & remodelling of the historic Burgh Halls & 2-storey extension to provide over 1,100m2 of community and local authority facilities

Description of Works:

Refurbishment and remodelling of the historic Burgh Halls together with the construction of a 2-storey extension to provide over 1,100m2 of community and local authority facilities including a library, community halls, museum and Customer Information Service office. The project was delivered within a restricted town-centre environment.

  • 2-storey steel frame
  • Pre-cast concrete stairs
  • Curtain walling
  • Facing brick external walls
  • M&E Services including plumbing, power, lighting, underfloor heating system, pv panels, data and alarm systems and ventilation
  • New partition walls and wall linings
  • Doorsets, glazed screens and partitions
  • Enclosed platform lift
  • Suspended ceilings including bespoke slatted feature ceiling and acoustic baffle boards
  • Floor finishes including vinyl and carpet tiles
  • Fixtures and fittings including kitchen areas, showers and toilet facilities
  • Painterwork
  • External works including the formation of a new civic space
