Community and refurbishment projects

Description of Works:

External refurbishment works to an operational community centre within a residential area.

Works included:

• the replacement of existing windows, screens and grilles with new upvc windows and roller shutter grilles
• hammer testing of external render and repair where defective
• painting external render and handrails
• clearing gutters
• inspecting roof coverings and repairing defects
• inspecting and repairing internal downpipes
• surveying the drainage line in the car park
• selected external door replacement or repairs
• ventilation upgrades to specific rooms and repairs to external plant insulation
• replacement of parapet cope flashings

Added Value:

The building fabric repairs were agreed following extensive surveys in conjunction with the Client, ourselves and our supply chain to explore alternatives to determine the most appropriate repair solutions to be implemented. Solutions included avoiding hotworks and minimising impact on the ongoing operation of the community centre.
