Community projects

Description of Works: External alteration and refurbishment works to improve the building fabric and hard and soft landscaping within an existing civic square.  The project was delivered adjacent to operational businesses.

Works included:

• Downtakings including demolition of brick walls
• Clearing site vegetation and breaking out existing car park and paving
• Drainage works
• New brick wall and render to a curved wall in preparation for an art mural to be installed by local artists
• Refurbishment works to shop fronts
• Render works
• New street furniture including bins and bollards
• Installation of planters
• New streetlights
• Hard landscaping including paving, tarmacadam, resin bound gravel, steps and car parking areas
• Soft landscaping including trees, shrubs and planting

Community Benefits:

• Advertised job opportunities via local agencies
• Area tidy-up campaign
• Donation to local school breakfast club
• Donation to local foodbank
• Donated slabs to local residents
