Education projects

Description of Works: Procured via Lot 1.1.4 of the Crown Commercial Service Construction Works & Associated Services Framework, this project is for the design and refurbishment of a traditional 2-storey sandstone building to provide teaching accommodation.

Works included:

• Downtakings/demolition
• An extension to provide new precast concrete fire escape stair including new curtain walling, single ply roof
• Slate roof refurbishment including installation of new vapour permeable underlay, new slates and leadwork
• Masonry repairs
• Lime render
• Repair and redecoration to some existing windows and doors
• New sash and case windows
• New plaster to the existing internal walls
• New wall linings to the internal face of the external walls
• New plasterboard partitions to reconfigure the layout
• Internal doors
• Mechanical and electrical installations including power, lighting, data, alarm systems, CCTV, access control, heating and ventilation
• Integrated plumbing system including new sanitaryware
• Floor finishes including carpet tiles and vinyl
• Ceiling finishes including suspended and improvement to thermal performance
• Painterwork—internal and external
• Fixtures and fittings including blinds, storage & display units, cloaks, vanity units
• Loose furniture including smart screens with the classrooms
• Gabion basket wall to protect longevity of existing retaining wall
• External works including DDA compliant entrance, gates, fencing, stone boundary wall, cycle shelters, hard and soft landscaping.
