Summary: Refurbishment of 3 blocks of student accommodation over 4 levels
Description of Works: Refurbishment of 3 blocks of student accommodation over 4 levels (628m2) within a city-centre site.
Works included:
- strip-out
- new kitchen and bathroom facilities
- M&E installations including lighting, emergency lighting, ventilation and upgraded energy efficient heating
- door and window refurbishment
- floor, wall and ceiling finishes including suspended ceilings, making good and painting
- fixtures and fittings including vanity units and roller blinds
Added value:
- working closely with GCU’s own supply chain and contactors to deliver extensive refurbishment from award to phased completion in a very limited time, accommodating students moving in on time for the new academic year
- upcycling of some existing fixed furniture and re-allocation of nearly new white goods in conjunction with some new furniture providing economical and environmentally friendly upgrade solutions
