Summary: Phased refurbishment works to an operational high school building

Description of Works:

Phased refurbishment works to an operational high school building.  Works were carried out during term times and holiday periods in order to minimise disruption to the school.

Works included:

• Upgrade metal roof decking of the full roof area, including insulation upgrade
• Replace/upgrade approximately 90% of suspended ceilings
• Replace/upgrade windows to pool building and courtyard
• Upgrade areas of render where bossed, pointing blockwork
• Replace weatherboarding to courtyard
• Upgrade changing rooms and toilets on ground and first floor to include cubicles, floor/wall finishes and sanitaryware
• Remove immersion and calorifier plant and replace entirely. Replace any age expired hot and cold-water pipework -subject to survey
• Replace and upgrade Electrical Main Panel Boards and Distribution Boards
• Upgrade small electrics throughout including cabling, trunking where appropriate and accessories
• Kitchen upgrade including ceiling upgrade, walls and floor as necessary to comply with current hygiene and Building Standard requirements
• Electrical upgrade including new power supply as necessary to allow safe operation of new equipment proposed.
• Upgrade ventilation as appropriate to be in accordance with CIBSE recommendations
• Upgrade fire alarm system throughout
• Upgrade cracked/uneven slabs, renew wearing course, concrete blocks and re surface car park
• Decorate walls, ceiling, skirtings, doors, replace floor coverings where disrupted
