We’re delighted to share that Boyd Black, our Career Ready Student graduated on 6th March 2025 in a ceremony held at Sky Watermark in Livingston.

Our Construction Director Barry Simpson (pictured) mentored Boyd throughout the 2023-2025 academic years.

Boyd is currently completing his final year at school and has applied to West Lothian College to further his construction knowledge. Through the Career Ready initiative and with support from various Maxi Construction employees, Boyd has been made aware of and has shown interest in opportunities that he had not previously considered. After a very successful paid internship placement where Boyd spent time in each Department learning about their contribution to the business, with his new found knowledge and experience, he is now exploring construction related career options in management and compliance and is looking into further education including attending university.

His longer term aspirations have increased since participating in the initiative, fueled by what he has learned over the duration of his involvement with Career Ready and Maxi construction Ltd.

We wish Boyd well with his future career.
