Sustainability

At Maxi Construction we view sustainability as maximising positive benefits and minimising negative impacts on the environment, society and the economy.

Environmental Aspects:

Our Environmental Policy provides the framework for our Environmental Action Plan.  In addition to ongoing environmental initiatives such as waste miniminsation, re-use and recycling we are currently supporting the global 10:10 campaign to cut carbon emissions by 10% within a year.  We are also currently supporting Trees4Scotland in the restoration of Teaghlach Wood in Perthshire, in conjuction with our membership of the Green Business Network.

Social and Economic Aspects:

Through the implementation of our Equality & Diversity Policy we aim to benefit from having a workforce that is truly representative of society where every employee is valued and their knowledge and experience put to profitable use.  We participate in community employment and targeted recruitment and training initiatives.  In conjunction with our Sustainable Procurement Policy we utilise local resources - labour, suppliers and SMEs.  We regularly provide school talks highlighting the dangers of construction sites and have run poster-design competitions in connection with these initiatives.  We collobarate with local colleges with regard to employment and training initiatives.  We support local community groups including current sponsorship of Rutherglen Glencairn Football Club and Broxburn United JFC.
